Nope. There won't be an Integra 8 soon because these rack units usually last very, very long. What's the problem with the Integra 7 anyway ? Go make some music.

It'd be nice to see them release another just to fix some of the things in the 7.

There's some bad samples here and there in the Supernatural instruments. I've found some bad samples and artifacts here and there. Those can't be fixed unless it gets upgraded.

They've also made some asinine decisions in the programming department - for example, if you have two instruments sharing the same midi channel, you can't tell one instrument to ignore keyswitches.

For example, I programmed a split with the jazz guitar in my right hand and the acoustic bass in my left. When I hit the keyswitch to activate the octaves in the jazz guitar, that's also the same keyswitch that activates the mutes in the bass. So I can't use the octave mode in the guitar without muting the bass. Do the people at Roland even use the stuff they make? An ability to tell a sound to ignore keyswitches would solve this instantly. You can tell it to ignore the sustain pedal, but not keyswitches (or midi CCs which would do the same)?!

Increase the patch memory. 64 slots is still hugely embarrassing for Roland. A minimum of 4 banks of 256 (or 512) slots should have been the least it offered. I still have no idea what they were thinking.

They should increase the internal sample rate as the unit still suffers from very bad aliasing in the high register. It'd be nice if the unit ran internally at 96khz to fix this. It especially cripples a lot of the synth lead and synth string sounds.

Typical Roland though...they get 90% of the way there and fall down in the final lap.

It'd be great to see an i8 that fixes all this.

If Roland could pay a student to make an integra-7 APP for WIFI & Cable connectio , that would make the good changements in MENU automatically
THAT WOULD BE MORE DESIRABLE THAN 10 INTEGRA-8 S ( BIG TIME )
WHAT A SHAME AFTER 4 YEARS LETTING DOWN YOUR CLIENTS !!!

All companies have slowed down their pattern of releasing new models (e.g. Yamaha with the Motif), and Roland is particularly cautious to make big investments in higher priced instruments due to their economic situation and the restructuring of the company. The Integra-7 is obviously selling well, and Roland had, for the first time ever, provided access to all 12 SRX boards without having to buy them extra, and used SRX boards are still very expensive on Ebay. So I don't think they see a good financial reason to release an Integra 8 now, even if I would be excited about it.
What I hope is that Roland will release more handy units like the SonicCell, with a good part of the Integra sounds included (more than the FA sounds).

I would be grateful for an upgrade to the Integra-7 OS to allow some of the enhancements on the new FA07 they've just announced.

Here's hoping for an OS upgrade at least.

Guess the next iteration of what the Integra can do will be on the Roland cloud.
