Controlling Supernatural Synth with BCR2000
Re: Controlling Supernatural Synth with BCR2000
Been using the free PC editor and the Roland plugin, They are nice and complete, but because of their completeness they are not suitable for SN-S sound design and tweaking. The buttons and controls are too small on the screen or there is screen scrolling, clicking tabs etc, so still need external knobs. I primarily use the "analog" wave-forms and not the samples for experimentation. The controls in the I7 are massive (3 OSCs, 3 LFO's, many different types of filters and a huge amount of other parameters) compared to the basic controls on for example the Boutique. I do wonder what you could get out, for example from a JP-08, you can't from the I7 SN-S. Of-course, the I7 is about 5x time the price of a JP-08, but you get 16 parts (layering) and a lot of parameters you can change, so question is what is a good long term investment. For the BCR2000, very likely going to get it but my conclusion is I will have to put some time in developing custom software to make the workflow, control assignment and what I am looking for faster and easier. Hopefully the investment will pay off.
