Arturia Keylab & I7

Post by DEVO-UK »

Anyone got this hooked up to their I7?

Thinking of changing my midi controller and just wondered if there were any mapping issues.

I use a minilab with mine almost daily through a PC running Sonar Platinum. No problems here. There should be no mapping issues as it is a typical midi controller with all of the usual capabilities.

I know you asked about the mapping but since you are looking at the 88 note weighted controller I thought to share that I did not find the velocity curve on the Keylab 88 to be very good for piano type sounds. I have an RD700nx and love the weight of the keys but hate dragging out such a heavy keyboard. I have some good sounds on my laptop so I would love to get a lighter controller which I could then use with my laptop. I tried out the Keylab 88 and was unimpressed. I posted about it on the Arturia forum and got lots of views but no response to my question on velocity settings and piano patches. If you are considering the 88 key model then I would definitely try it out first before buying it.
