Digital Out Cable ?

Post by MC909 »

Thinking about using the Integra's digital out.
What is the best quality cable I need, are they all the same?

Thanks and Merry Christmas ☺

A good quality digital shielded cable would be the best, but all depends on the distance from the Integra and the Audio Card.

Contrary to Audio, Digital has the good behavior of being immune to noise, but as all digital communications, it's very "picky" to distance...

I'm using a good audio 30cm Din Cable between my i-7 and the Focusrite 18i8 Audio card, and the result is the best I could have... very good sound and completely noiseless at MAX volume!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Hi man.

That's the very same audio interface I'm about to buy.
I ordered a cable in the end that Roland UK recommended to me, although I ordered a 3 meter instead of the 1.5 meter. I hope There is no loss of sound quality.

I'm still really pleased with the integra. Still a lot to learn.

Happy Christmas to you too.

Very good choice of interface I must say. Efficient, noiseless, not very expensive and very stable. I'm very happy with it

Got my 18i8 last week.
Very nice. You were right - noiseless.
A strong clean signal.

Just waiting for my digital cable to arrive.

.....now if I could sell my mc909 to buy an eventide h9.....image how the integra would sound run through a h9 ?

I recently got ableton and push2. Massively more fun than the 909.
Work flow is a lot faster too.

The volume knob has no effect on the digital out.

Junojohn is absolutely right. There is no way to control the Digital volume on the i-7, but you can control it on the Scarlett Mixer IN 9/10 slider :-)

BTW, Happy New Year JunoJohn!!!
