Question for Live Performance

I've had the unit for 2 weeks now and LOVE IT!!

I wanted to save the sounds I use most often for live performance in a separate location, so that they are all together (keeping scrolling to a minimum).

When I look at the manual (page 51), it appears that you need to export the sound(s) to an SD card and then import them back in?

On my Nord Electro 5D, it's a simple operation .... I can't believe that the Integra-7 requires this awkward approach?

Can anyone confirm (or point me in the right direction)?

Thanks!!

Don

... No you're not ... But this is a good thing :)

The instruction on page 51 of the manual are to export or imports a file (.svd) that contains the data for multiple patches. Think of this as a 'bank' of sounds that you can load or save to a file.

For the sounds you want to save at a different locations you will probably want to create one or more studio set which have 16 parts. For each part you can then assign any 'sound' you want, which is referred as a 'tone' in the manual. See pages 30 to 34 for that.

One studio set will then allow you to group together up to 16 sounds (but again this is called a 'tone' in the manual, not a sound)

If you want to dig a little deeper you can also edit the tones themselves. In this case you have to understand that what Roland is calling a partial is in fact the same as what is commonly called a wave. See "Editing a tone" in the manual for that.

No problem :)

Btw, in case you don't know yet and want to 'experiment' with new sounds you will find a lot of them at the axial website of roland: http://axial.roland.com/

Those are in fact .svd file that you were writing about in your original post.
