Switch Parts by Foot Pedal not available

Post by madAhorn »

Changing parts within a studio set generates seamless switching.
We can of course select parts via the Pads.

I still see no footswitch setting to do so, unfortunately...

I hope this gets added someday. No other mode is seamless in the FA, so switching with foot pedal the favorites or sets or patches is useless to me. The one mode that would be useful not assignable to foot switch.

Argh!

There has been no firmware update, right?

Problem Solved with an interesting Work Around.
Would anyone like to know how?
Or do you already know the work around and did not bother sharing with the rest of us?
Does anyone care about changing sounds seamlessly with a foot switch like I do?

Glad to be of help! (And I am glad someone cares ;-))

1. Go to System Menu and Set Pedal 1 and 2 to Panel-Dec and Panel-Inc for your foot switches.

2. Select a Studio Set with the sounds you need.

3. Hold "Shift" and Select "Effects Edit"

4. Highlight the Part # in the top left corner.

Clicking the footswitches will seamlessly move you up and down each part of your Studio Set.

When you exit the Effects Edit window to select another Studio Set and go back to Effects Edit again,
The curser will already be on Part #. When you shut down it moves again.

I drove myself crazy for a couple of days selecting every CC for the pedal inputs over and over trying to find one that would work. Then I searched anywhere I could to find something on the keyboard where you could highlight the part # and just use the Inc/Dec method...Found It!

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes that works but it's not a usable solution for going from studio set to studio set unfortunately.

The hardware can do it (as you've just demonstrated) but the software is needing fixed.

Changing Studio Sets with a footswitch is already implemented with "Studio Set Up/Dn" in the footswitch list. It is not seamless, however.

Are you needing to switch from one large layer to another seamlessly?

If not large layers, my method works well.
I do assign certain parts to the same midi channel so as to layer them...Piano/Strings, etc.

Yes, I need to cycle through sometimes over 200 studio sets (most of them simple) and often patch remain is required. And note mapping but that's another story!

This might at least improve your situation somewhat..

Assign one footswitch to Panel Inc and the other footswitch to Studio Set Up

Some of the simpler parts that need seamless switching could be within a studio set.
Change those from the Effects Edit page as described earlier with one footswitch

The other footswitch will change the studio sets no matter what page you are on.

Hope this gives you a helpful idea or two.
