Need help loading Expansion EXP Pack 02
Well my 1st try at uploading the EXP-2 to my new FA-06, went thru the videos but get stuck. After following the instructions 100%, Plug the USB in, reboot, hold PREVIEW, getting "Wave Update Mode". Please select a file for SLOT 1: (Pad:1-16,EXIT:Remain) : on screen. Go to press Pad 1, nothing happens, everything stops period. Do I need to set up the Pads ?. Keep in mind this is a brand new unit, have only gone through the Studio Sets library, never loaded an Expansion until today. Maybe something simple. Need some help folks ! I am a player, not a programmer. Thanks !

Did you unzip the file you downloaded from the Roland site?

EXP02.bin is what I have on the memory stick currently. Do I need to change this ? thanks for the quick help this Saturday morning !

Perhaps the file or the USB stick could be corrupt. Try downloading and unzipping again, and try a different USB stick if you can.

Re: Need help loading Expansion EXP Pack 02
this is starting to bug me now. When it (video) calls for me to press Pad 1, nothing happens. USB is in the slot, my screen reads ==Wave Update Mode==
[SLOT1:-------------]
[SLOT2:-------------]
Please select a file for SLOT 1.
(PAD:1-16. EXIT:Remain):
Pads are illuminated, I go to press Pad 1, nothing happens on the screen. Tried 3 sticks, all do the same thing. The file on the stick has been extracted (unzipped), went through power down pressing Preview, get the above on screen. Go to PAD 1, everything stops. Good grief. I have never used the Pads yet for anything. is there some internal way of activating them (other than they are illuminated) that I haven't done ? After pressing PAD 1, I get Error !! (ENTER: Retry): Thanks !

Re: Need help loading Expansion EXP Pack 02
now another question. I really like the EX02 # 0116 B3Sermon SRV, it has the V3/C3 slow rotor emulation tone like my old B3 and Leslie 122. Can I save this particular PCMS tone to a Studio Set List which I want to try making now, to bring it up and save for live playing ? Thanks !

Re: Need help loading Expansion EXP Pack 02
yes, you can save the tone in any studio set. But you have to keep the EXP loaded in your FA, otherwise the tone will be not accessable.
You cannot save PCMS 'data' (that means waveforms) to internal RAM. It will always stay in the virtual EXP board.

Perfect. I don't think I will need any more tones now with all that are available on the FA-06 and EXP-02. Now to figure out what I want to create in Studio Sets, definitely including some from the EXP-02. Wow, lots to create with. On a good learning curve with the FA-06. Thanks very much for the help !
