reagge style piano

Post by Rupertt »

Hi,

is there a prese that emulates the piano type sound you hear in all reagge dub tracks?
Like the one that starts at 0.13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkptZo_2zkY

Are there more sound in the web than on the Axial site?

Hello Ruppertt,

I don't think that you have to use a EXP board from AXIAL.
Select a piano from the PCM presets and adjust the equalizer for that part.

I was wonderimg about your conclusion, because the Axial sounds are around the world with the Fantom series. So it is new to me, that there are now decent regae pianos available.

But this forum aims to help all Roland user. Do you have some more audible sources like youtube or mp3, how this piano would sounds like? On your first example it is not clear enough. Will try to figure ot out for you.
cheers, bennyseven

I mainly use the Bright piano in reggae. It has a nice attackt to it aswell as a clear tone which is really needed with the subby bass, the sharp guitar skanks and the bass-heavy organs. Good to know is that this piano tone is best when playing modern reggae as it is a bit unnatural sounding. To make it a bit more lively i sometimes us a studio set with 2 tracks of bright piano. One track is left untampered while the other is set to +1 octave and the volume set to 50-70.
