Have a sample on pad trigger at start and hold

I want to have a backing track play back that was recorded to a pad while I record so I can duplicate parts of the song.
and eventually delete the song when I have a completed song or multiple tracks. Is this possible?

Do you mean while recording with the FA sequencer? If so, there might be a way to do this using the channel assigned to the pads. Typically it's channel 16 but it can be a different. This is set in the general settings. Each pad correspond, to a note on the key board for that channel. I never actually did this during recording so I don't know for sure if this would work, but I think it should.
