FA-08 as a 16 channel controller

I currently own a Fantom G8 and I use it along with NI Komplete 9 Ultimate as a controller.
I am thinking about selling my G8 in exchange for a FA-08.
I like the new sequencer, smaller design and Integra sounds.
However, is it possible to control 16 channels simultaneously like you can in the G8 Live mode.
It was stated in a video that Roland has done away with Live mode in the FA-08 and it only has one mode.
I could just get a controller, but I like having the internal sounds in case I can't setup my VST.
Before I sell my G8, I would like to have it verified that the FA-08 can be used as a fluent controller like the G8.
In the G8 Live Mode I can even assign different ranges of the keyboard to different channels.
Can this all be done in the FA-08 as well?
Hopefully I am making myself clear on what I am questioning.
