.SMP files: Can they be converted to other formats?

Post by Onj »

Hello. Sorry, yet another blind person with the FA here, so my question may seem a bit strange but I'll ask it. Since the FA manual is... Well yeah, anyway. Beautiful weather we're having... Leaves a lot to be desired, I haven't found a sure-fire way of importing .wav samples to the pads right now, so I wondered if anyone knew of a way I could do that from my PC/Mac? I'd even be willing quite frankly, to pay a few people to sit down and write a tiny, pointless editor that takes .wav files, puts them on the required pads, creates the padconf.bin, I dump those samples to the FA's SD card and off I go.
Like I said, strange, but if anyone has any ideas, please do let me know.
I figured if anything could open .SMP files, reaper, Audacity or Soundforge could in raw mode but they're not standard 44.1 KHZ 16-bit sadly. Tried a few other things as well, signed, unsigned, big/little Endian, couldn't succeed.
Thanks very much, oh, and happy new year to all.
