Can case outgassing damage electronic instruments ?

Hi Guys,

I just bought SKB keyboard case.... and it smells real stink inside....

I am wondering .... can the outgassing of the adhesives and/or foam interior damage the keyboard in any way ?

Can I risk leaving the keyboard in the case ?

will the gasses spoil switch contacts ? .... I guess that's the real question....

All keyboards got LOTS of contacts.... chemical reaction that ruins electrical conductivity could ruin the keyboard

Anybody know ?
