Key Pressure FA-08

New owner of an FA-08 here. I've scoured through the user's manual and I can't find the answer to my query. Can you adjust the touch sensitivity of the keys,or key pressure? (It could be that I'm not using the right terminology as these things change over the years.) Basically, I have to pound the snot out of these keys (piano voices) to get the volume I want and it's turned all the way up both on the levels and master.

Yes you can, from the main menu screen, choose System, then keep going right until you get to keyboard settings. On that screen you can change touch sensitivity from light, to medium or heavy, and also set the velocity from real (responds as per the previous setting) or set a fixed velocity from 1-127. In addition you can change the velocity curve from -10 to 10, which gives a bit more control over the feel of the keyboard. Check the Reference Manual - page 97, which you can download as a PDF from the Roland website. It's not in the manual that comes with the FA, which is probably why you can't find it!

Thank you very much! I found and adjusted it easily. Keyboard velocity=touch sensitivity.

It will be a little better for sure but I still think roland has made a big mistake with the weights.. There is no point in emulating real keys that are too heavy anyway even if the real pianos are very expensive, wrong is wrong regardless of cost.. Compare it side by side with a kronos ,you'll se what I mean..

Roland's whole point with the key weight is to emulate the feel of a real GRAND PIANO...They've absolutely knocked it out of the park here. If you want to make a key weight comparison, go compare it to a Bosendorfer or a Steinway...not a Kronos or a Motif (Btw, Korg's weighted action SUCKS in my opinion!!). Roland's piano feel is the best in the industry.

The problem for me is that I can't play quite it's all 1 volume.
Is there a setting I'm missing?

Check your keyboard velocity settings in "Systems".
Set it to "Real".
