I have ordered a FA 07.

So there is a lot I do not know about it. I don't really understand this studio set thing.

Is this just your favourite sounds that you like to use regularly stored in the same place?

A Studio Set is just a collection of 1 or more Tones (sounds) that you want to use together during a performance or in a song while recording. You can save that 'collection' as a Studio Set so you can easily recall it at a later time. A Studio Set also contains a lot of parameters like keyboard range (for layering, splits,...),...
You can store 512 Studio Sets. When you save a Song, it will also save which Studio Set was used.

Favorites are just memory locations to which you can store your most often used Tones or Studio Sets. You have 10 banks, each bank has 10 locations: so 100 in total.

If you're new to the FA then I highly recommend the video's from Ed Diaz (Roland US) who does a great job at explaining how to use the FA.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked many times, but...
If I load a Studio Set from an SVD file from another user... do I have to select the Studio Set only, and then the procedure automatically copies also User Tones used by the Studio Set, or do I have to mark also the User tones? It's not very clear...

Oh, question number 2: the way to create an SVD file is to perform a Backup, right? But a backup doesn't ask WHAT I want to backup, it simply backs-up ALL user data.
So, how can you guys share SVD files with only one studio set? Is that the only User SS that you have???

Of course I did, but it doesn't answer my question (and there is a user, in the comments, which asks the same thing I asked here).

A better way to handle individual Studios Sets and Tones is using the FA Editor.

https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail ... NS3RG9TVQT

Using SVD, you have to backup ALL data. You can Import separate Studio Sets, FA will guide you to select the user tones and find the empy slots, but it will not advise if you already have saved the same user tone...
