FA06 losing MIDI controller capability

I use a soft synth called UVI Falcon, which uses the FA06 as a MIDI controller. I frequently found Falcon no longer displaying MIDI trigger indications, so I just go into Falcon's MIDI devices tab, and choose the already chosen FA06. Then it starts working again until next time. I've just disabled the auto-power off and screensaver to see if I lose communication again. Does anyone here experience problems using the FA as a MIDI controller? If its not the screensaver or power timeout, then I suspect it could be a dry solder joint on the MIDI connector. I don't fancy sending this back to Roland after the last repair I had in January. Alternatively, I'll buy myself a MIDI controller keyboard.
