Yellow Lettering FA06 Overlay...

I was very interested to see that Roland is releasing an official fix-it overlay for their JD-Xa faceplate. I also heard that later models being produced are not going to have the "shiny" faceplate.

Of course I have the same problem with my FA06. Where it sits in my music room, I have only been able to navigate on it from memory as I cannot see the lettering. If the FA is out in the open with ambient light there is no problem. But, if I place a lamp overhead, the lamp glare of the shiny surface blocks the lettering too!

So, will Roland actually ever release an overlay correction for the FA? I was fed up after reading about the JD-Xa correction, so I cut up some yellow low-tack sticky notes and placed them over the lettering. Hopefully that will stand out for my eyes. I thought I would include some pictures in the event anyone wants to consider doing this...

Chiclets,

I did the same thing, although not quite to the extent to which you did it, with yellow vinyl tape. Gigging necessity!

Of course, there is yellow vinyl tape all over my rig locating this and that. My wife makes fun of me for it. We got a new washing machine and I complained that the button labels were small. She said "Oh great, now our washing machine is gonna have yellow tape all over it!" :-)

Glad to hear I'm not alone, Joe P,

The keyboard is nice for me to play now - I placed the FA on my stand earlier today, and everything is visible for me to tweak. It almost felt like a new experience!

The Supernatural synth engine is so fantastic- it's really making me question whether I need to upgrade my System 1 to the System 8. This FA has a lot, now if only it had a better tweaking interface...
