Labels on sample pads

Post by Mguerani »

Hi all,
I'm getting old so when I play at gigs, I like to have all my setups as clear and identifiable as possible.
(I'm also singing and turning off and on the fog machine, the lasers and so on.. I'm quite busy).
I'm also using a lot of samples and I have tried to stick a small label on each pad with names like "plane" "helicopter" "thewallchoir1" etc etc.
Unfortunately the pad material is "rubbery" and things don't stick to it.

Anybody has had the same kind of problem or has any hint ?

I put stickers next to the pads, not on them. But it's not ideal, you can't see as quickly as you'd like what a pad does.

I think if I was using a lot of pads in different banks I'd end up using an iPad with GoButton instead.

I think scramble is right, but maybe the pad info mode helps, if your sample files are named properly (i.e. helicopter.wav). Drawback is, that you are away from the studio set menus.
