Switching Sounds in Studioset Without Losing/Cutoff Sound

Post by Erik »

Good afternoon everybody:

Current situation:
2 different users (studioset)
- 1 user: Split - Left layered strings
Right layered Flute
- 1 user: Split - Left layered strings
Right layered Sax

How can I switch from one user to another without losing sound or directly cutting off the sound?
I have already tried with the option favorite by switching in the bank mode, but this brought the same problem. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello Erik,
you cannot switch studio sets without sound/FX cutoff.
Best way would be to change the part (flute to sax) within a studio set.
There are few options to do this (menu by cursor, pad).
hope this helps,

Found this in another RCF post:

From Keyboard Mag Review:

"The instrument does support “patch remain” (being able to change to another program while sustaining the previous sound without notes cutting off), but only under certain circumstances. You can change from program to program without having the previous program cut off in Single mode, but if the effects change from one program to another, you hear an audible burp—and more often than not, the effects do change. This, however, can be avoided in Sequencer or Studio Set mode. In either case, you can scroll up or back to a different part seamlessly. Even the sustain pedal can be used, sustaining the held sound and not affecting the new sound at all until the previous sound is released. “Patch remain” is not supported when switching Studio Sets, though—the previous sound is cut off entirely."

So you'll have to have a Studio Set with 3 sounds - Strings on say Part 1, with Flute on Part 2 and Sax on Part 3.

You'll probably have to use the "KBD" button on each part to get the Strings to play continuously, and then either the wheel or a bad to toggle between the flute and sax (whichever is highlighted will play).

You can set the range on each Part so they Split rather than Layer.

You can also use the Pads to do "Part Mute" or things like that and basicall press Pad 1 and have it on to have Part 1 on (your strings) then use the 2 and 3 pads to switch between the Flute and Sax.

This would probably be the most convenient way to do it.
