So when you're playing the FA-08 the sound is coming out of the 1/4" analog outs to your speaker so you can hear what your playing in realtime, can this also be done in realtime using the USB, similar to spdif, to keep the signal digital?
I have a friend designing a custom amp set up that he'd like to add a synth to and I'm trying to help him find the right synth. We'd like to use the digital signal, not analog, so it can run through the dsp and through the crossover etc. I've seen that the FA synths can transmit the audio through the USB but haven't been able to find out if it is realtime or more of an import/export feature.

yes, you have to install the FA driver on your DAW to use audio over USB. Then select FA Audio on the input device setting (i.e. Cubase or Audacity).

And yes, it's real time.
