Delete/Initialize Studio Sets

Spending more time with this board. I've been through the reference manual a few times on studio sets, but don't understand two things:
1) Is it possible to delete a user studio set? I downloaded a couple just to test, but want to delete them. I see how you can save/write them, but not how to delete them.
2) What is the purpose of "initializing" a studio set, tone, etc.
