Midi File Import and Sample Pads

Hi
I am having an issue that when I load a song from a standard midi file, the sample pads extinguish and don't work. but this only happens on some files, which is a bit frustrating.

I am trying to import a midi file ..for I feel good (James Brown) for the drums and selected backing but I want to trigger a sample at the start of the song for the iconic James Brown Waaaah which I have imported to one of the pads. My thinking was to import the midi then in the sequencer re-record the start to include the pad trigger from part 16 of a studio multi. But I am thwarted as the pads no longer trigger samples after midi load.

Can anyone shed any light please

Thanks

I think, the best way is the following:

First copy the sample you want AND the Midi-File into the Import-Folder of your SD-Card.
Then choose an empty song (Init) and import the MIDI-File into the song.
Now load the sample on the Sample-Button, you want (normaly beginning with 1).
Go to Sample Edit and set the gate to OFF (important for longer Samples).
Go to track 16 and set it to PAD! Stay on track 16.
Now press Record, Start and directly the Sample Button (1 ?).
Let the whole song play to the end and stop after recording. Don`t stop the recording, when you only have a short sample at the beginning, let the whole song play one time.
Now go to Microscope Edit and move the start of the Sample to the measure, you want (in your case to 1.0.0.

Now your song plays with sample.
Saving: It is important, to save first Studio Set and then the song (not the other way around). When you save the song, click the "Sample"-Field.

The Song is now saved WITH the Sample as a FA-File, not as a Midi File.
In this case you can load always Songs with its associated Samples, you don`t need to load the components individually.

Problem, when you want to load it over a Midi-File is, that the associated Studio Set is not saved and you canĀ“t find your sample in this case.

Sorry for my english, but I hope, I could it explain, so you understand it!

Hi Candy

Thank you for your reply

I will try your suggestion and I suspect my issue was the order I saved them

"Saving: It is important, to save first Studio Set and then the song (not the other way around). When you save the song, click the "Sample"-Field."

Your English is perfect

Kind regards
