is the sequencer stuck on overdub recording ?

Post by pixie42 »

I have recently bought the FA-06, and I am struggling a little bit with the onboard sequencer. It seems to me recording mode is overdubbing only.
Is there any kind of "record and replace mode" ?
How do I proceed to record a take on a precise region and replace it with another take if I'm not satisfied with the first one ? Do I have to go the menu and erase my track or hit the undo button ?

Thank you for your answers.

You can remove just a section (bar etc.) using the menus, and then re-record. Or, when you start recording there's an erase option on the screen and you can remove certain notes, SysEx only, or everything (You hold the button down for the duration that you want to remove).

But, no, there's no option to replace when recording that i've noticed before, sorry.

I would personally just set the loop markers over that region and hold the erase all button down on sections i'm not happy with, and then re-record when the loop returns.
