is it possible to trigger fa pads from foot pedal

Post by Odregos »

This must have been asked before. Is there any way to use a foot pedal, maybe a fcb1010 , to trigger the pads instead of pressing them by hand?

that's the Berhinger right?

If so, I believe that can send NOTE messages so the answer is, yes.

The Pads are "linked" to Channel 16 (Part 16) by defualt.

You can actually use the keys on the FA to play the Pads! I forget which notes they are exactly but if you press low C it's like Pad 1, then D (or maybe Db) is Pad 2, and so on.

IIRC you can actually get to all 4 banks of 16 samples on the keyboard since it has more than 48 keys!

So any controller that can send NOTE messages to trigger channel 16 will work.

However, most foot pedals tend to use PC and CC messages and not note messages so it has to be something like the Behringer that or "one step" type devices (if anyone made MIDI organ pedals still you could even use those!)
