New FA-07 owner

Post by GregC »

Hey guys/ladies.

Finally returning to the clan after a + 10 year absence.

I am taking delivery of the FA-07 in a few days.

The posts here were valuable in making my 07 decision. I purchased the FA
from GC online, sight unseen, here in the US. Thats the way of the retail/online
world, it seems, impossible to demo a new keyboard.

Anyway, I considered the 06 . Being more of a piano person, I was put off
by the 06 keybed. Hoping that the 07 with its stated lightweight synth action is
a step or 2 up in quality.

If its close to the keybed feel of the A-50 controller (long gone), I would be ecstatic.

The FA-07 is joining my Korg Kronos 88. Also adding a UR44 to my MBP as I am
making a gradual shift from recording on the Kronos SEQ to Cubase.

I don't gig. Home studio , song writer type. Have 25 songs on SoundCloud.

Will be fun to hang here.

Were the -07 available at the time, it would've been perfect for me.

Hope it brings you lots of joy, i still love my -06, quick navigation, so great if you're wanting to get something basic down in the sequencer pre-daw. Many times i find a simple 10 minute noodle on it turns into the basis of a full blown song! :)

Hi Sid, the SEQ and DAW integration is a big deal for me since I record 99% of the time.
Song writing is spontaneous - its great how the Muse guides us.

I almost bought a used X7 , primarily for its SEQ . I finally realized how good the FA is.

Here's a somewhat interesting FA experience.

I am +6 year Kronos 88 owner, recorded 25 songs on Soundcloud, 100% Kronos with a WAV file here and there.

My wife is well aware of my creative output on Kronos. Been messing around on my FA for some hours. Wife really likes the FA-07, is impressed by the audio character.

You married guys and eventually married guys might find this 'buy-in ' useful :)

Did you find your wife matching your keyboard, or your keyboard matching your wife? ;-)

:) I never thought of it that way.

Keyboards are personal. Wives and girlfriends are personal, too.

As far as matching personalities, I have to think about that ;)

Do I match my wife to my keyboard or do I match my keyboard to my wife, that's the question.
The new v2 software update also brought philosophy to our Roland FA series......;-)

The problem is nobody ever issues software updates for girlfriends and wives :P

Soon to come robotic girlfriends (and probably wives), with software updates for sure. All problems will go away.. :-)
