FA-08 midi jumping octaves when not in DAW Control

Post by eldz »

Hello everyone, recently I have been having trouble diagnosing a problem with my FA-08. When I record midi into Ableton the notes seem to jump an octave from certain spots. I am pretty sure that this is coming from a setting in the FA, but I can't pin down exactly what is causing it. If I record audio from the FA the notes play as they should, so it seems to be only affecting midi. I have factory restored the FA, but it did not help. Also, if I press DAW Control and change the Tx Channel it seems to work normally as long as I stay in DAW Control. I am guessing I accidentally changed something in Tx Channel 1, but I don't know how to fix it. I have been looking through the manuals, but I have not found a solution yet. Also, I record midi from the midi out not from USB.

Below is two pictures of me playing all the natural notes in order fed into Ableton. One is in DAW Control which plays correctly, the other is playing right from power on, which shows the midi notes jumping octaves.

I am completely stumped so help would be greatly appreciated!
