Triggering samples with foot pedals (PK-5)

Post by BaldyLee »

Is there a way to trigger samples with midi pedals like the PK-5? Or is there some other type of midi pedal that would do it? I’m trying to trigger samples with my feet while playing bass. The samples are loaded in the pads on my FA-06.

Thanks!

From my searching it looks like it can be done using midi channel 16. I'm pretty new to the midi thing, so I'm just trying to figure out how to get that going with the PK-5.

Thanks.

The PK-5 behaves just like a keyboard controller but is played using your feet.

Al you need to do is set the MIDI transmit channel on the PK-5 to the MIDI channel that is assigned to the pads on the FA-06.

By default part 16 is set up for the pads. You can change it to any part (or even turn it OFF).
This setting is located in Studio Common\General\Pad Part Select

If your PK-5 can't transmit on MIDI channel 16, just change the Pads to another part (MIDI channel) that it can transmit on.
