Re: Roland ARIA
Damn..you're quick! ;-)
I definitely want the TR-8, no doubt.
I have lot of fun with the Volca beats, but I think the TR-8 will be more useful for me.
The System-1 is very interesting, but I an't wait until there are more details released.
I like the idea of a plugin system. I liked it in my VariOS and System-1 looks far more better when it comes to controls. I am curious which software/plugins they are planning.

Re: Roland ARIA
I was thinking that it would be nice to use the TR-8 to send the sequence notes to the percussion part of the Jupiter 80 (or 50).
Re: Roland ARIA
Can't wait to get them! :)
I know they're planning the first VST to be SH101.

Re: Roland ARIA
So I read, but didn't see anything about upcoming plugins.
They say classic synths...so I can guess there will be some kind of Jupiter/Juno synth.
They already emulated a D50 in the V-Synth and VariOS and I would like that also in the System-1.
Some kind of Variphrase sampling device would also be nice.

Re: Roland ARIA
Cool with the option of running the plugins onboard or on an computer.
But will the plugins on an computer run without system-1?
I can understand if they use the unit as an dongle, but I would really like some old cult Roland synths as vst,s!
Not sure about the unit, 25 keys without velocity ??
EDIT: Found an little Demo!

Re: Roland ARIA
The way I understand it System-1 is the host for future Roland legacy synths, meaning the synths Roland will release are written specifically to be processed by the System-1 and they do not run on a computer.
Hence the term 'plug-out'.
I think Roland's AIRA range looks and sounds great, especially the TR8 and the System-1.

Re: Roland ARIA
So is Acid House making a big comeback? I haven't been paying attention. That would be neat and I'd like to get in on that if so.
I guess I wonder did Roland make these because there is a high demand for acid sounds or because they want to create a new era of that?
I'm pretty interested. I sold some gear last week and thought the money was going to go to savings but who knows now.

Re: Roland ARIA
Was so hoping they made it with real analogue. Oh well. Still sounds kinda fun...
Re: Roland ARIA
I'm glad that it's not analogue - Roland is looking forward, not back. Yes they have taken a classic but they've done it differently and added so much more than the original could ever do.
Point is, going analogue is a backward step. What is SO wrong about creating music on hugely powerful digital instruments?
