Documentation

Post by Tom_1970 »

I have had some nice time with my TR-8 and TB-3 since friday, but there is one thing I don't like about Aira...
THE DOCUMENTATION!!!

The manual is a very uneasy to handle piece of paper and even the PDF files are not in a handy printable format.
Also the content of the manual is very rudimentarty. It is more a quickstart guide than an operating manual.
It also lacks a soudlist and a Midi implementation chart.

Said this I do think that Roland has a big hit on their hands with the Aira range of products.
The TR-8 has made my Volca Beats obsolete. ;-)

This video is a nice demonstration of some hidden functions in the TR-8

Agreed! The Documentation is not that great or I should say comprehensive. I hope they come out with a Midi Implementation chart shortly.

Really hated the size of the print and the multi language foldout, then I realized the TR-8 was so simplistic and straight forward that the manual was pretty much unnecessary.

The really should at least redo the PDF so that it's in a normal layout and printable so the users have a viable option to the junk that ships with the unit.

Well at least there are MIDI implementation charts for the TR-8 and TB-3 now.

+1 re documentation. I have the -8 and the -3 and both 'pamphlets' are as useful as a chocolate teapot!

There is as more about plugging in the power and starting the units than how to use all the scatter variables, for example...

I totally agree! And it wasn't a printing issue. the safety sheet was just as big, but will never be opened.

Would anyone else contribute to a google doc or spreadsheet of more content and documentation for the -3/-8?

Maybe addition details on settings, presets, functions, "tricks", etc....... and a list of all the -3 sounds(and their effects patch) would be nice.
