MX-1 with other Roland gear

Post by pitchmau »

Hi.

I own the guitar synth GR-55 and the Handsonic HPD-20 and i wonder if I can use their usb connection to the USB ports in MX-1.

Also I own the SH-32 synth. Is it wise to use the Digital I/O channel with the SH-32 or HPD-20? I search for information about this digital channel but I couldn't find much.

One last question about MX-1 midi IN. Is it possible to assign a CC# in to change parameters like scenes, or mutes...?

The MX-1 does not support that gear through USB. It supports Aira and newer Roland synths. The MX-1 can be controlled through MIDI in.

thanks for your reply.
i actually bought the mx-1. i connect a gr-55 and sh-32 into 4 mono inputs, hpd-20 in 5/6 channel, rc-505 to aux out and digital in 7/8 channel thru a A/D 96khz converter, everything works well.

Nice! If you don't use the USB in-ports on the MX-1 you can route audio from a PC/Mac to those 4 stereo channels and mix/control them on the MX-1.
