It's kind of like a 606+ with the addition of compression and other available tweaks offered by the TR-8 controls and effects. I really like it a lot.

The 606 addition is great. And I like that the 3 digit display now shows 606 on booting instead of 7x7. Because honestly I will use the 606 sounds far more than 707.
The hats are extremely good, I've not heard any samples which don't have a pop, are clipped or gritty distortion in them but the TR-8 606 hats are sharp as a razor and perfect.
Roland is getting a lot of things right these last few years.

I like the TR-606 Expansion very much ,too !
The SD and the BD are very close to the original.
But the RC sounded more wider and longer (even with full decay on the TR-8) as I remembered.
Overall a great Expansion for the TR-8.
I hope Roland goes on with there old treasures and delight us with a other one sometime.
