VT3 & MX1

Post by Goon »

I have a nice new mx1 all linked up working perfectly within Ableton, I want to use the VT3 to process vocals, it is plugged into mx1 usb port3, I am unsure of the correct routing to vocode say pre-recorded vocals, it doesnt sound right. What is the correct routing within Ableton for this? Anything else I shuld be doing?

There is a procedure in the VT-3 knowledge base on the Roland site to apply effects on prerecorded samples.

I have seen that already but thats without the MX1..

I have the VT3 hooked upto MX1 via USB3. So I am trying to vocode and using a midi track to alter pitch, but cannot get it working. Does the Midi track have to be a mono or will the VT3 vocode using chords?

Look up the "VT-3: Vocoding Prerecorded Vocals" thread.

Yes once again I have already seen that, but still doesnt answer the question, did the cables work or not? Did you connect both send & return to in out of VT3?

Thank you, have you tried it with Midi altering the pitch at all, wondered if the VT3 altered pitch with chords or single notes. Did you use Stereo Cables or just go with mono?
