TR-8 7X7 expansion for Mac 10.6.8?

Hi,

I am new here. I have a Mac with OSX 10.6.8.
I have just updated my TR-8 to the last 1.20 update with the appropriate OSX 10.6 driver.

Now I want to buy the 7X7 expansion and have two questions. Hope someone can help me:
1) I have read somewhere on the Roland site that you need OSX 10.9 for the 7X7 expansion. Is that correct? or can I use my 10.6.8 Mac?
Don't want to harm anything.

2) And one more question: When I buy the 7X7 expansion and already have the 1.20 update. Do I have to reinstall the update get the 606 sounds? Not sure about the order in which you have to do things.

on Windows , did the 7x7 first and then found it I did not upgrade 1.20 yet.
Did the 1.20 and then, after two power cycles, got the 606 sounds.
