MX1: How to record seperate channels into DAW

Post by Theophrast »

Hello

i wanted to know your techniques for recordin the seperate channels of the MX1 into your DAW.
How much do have you to boost the signal in order to be as loud as on the MX1 itself?
I use the MX 1 in Mix mode and would like to record channels 1-6 to ableton!
I used "external audio effects" inside ableton for that job and i boost the volume about 19db which is quite much! it is running in 96khz mode.
Did other members experience similar issues?

I'm just learning this myself but I remember there are complaints about the AIRA gear having low volume compared with VST instruments for example. You've go to fiddle with the gain or gain staging or volume levels to make it aligned. How did you go at your end?

You need Ext mode to send all mx-1 inputs through your daw

you can adjust the individual channel input levels by selecting the channel, select gain, and use knob to adjust. if recording the performance master out through channels 17/18 you will need to apply the gain staging within ableton and use post processing effects to desired output.
