TR-8 heating up i7 like crazy

Post by KalmanB »

Hi people of Roland Clan, something is wrong with my TR-8. When I want to record or even play something in Reason while using ASIO TR-8, my i7 processor is heating up to 80+ celsius and the sound from Reason is not clean at all, glitchy scratchy etc. Maybe its the new Reason 10? I think thats the only new thing I started to use.
Anyway, I am not very experienced in this, so it is possible I am missing some really basic thing to make it work properly.
Thanks if you respond.

You probably have to increase the buffer length of the Tr-8 driver.

So I did all the way up and it fixed the audio glitches, but not the processor overheating. I played just a crappy track in Reason and when I looked at performance monitor, processor was being used up to 85%, fans really noisy.
Can it be the fixed sample rate at 96000Hz? Something had to change, I was using TR-8 on i5 before no problemo.
Thank you for your suggestion.
