system 1 update

hello,
i tried to update my system 1 plug out synth today, but when it got to the stage of pressing the 'down' button to update the synth, instead of the scatter lights coming on, the 'up' button and the 'arp type + arp step' knobs started flashing. I dont want to turn it off as it said not to do that whilst updating, does anyone else have this problem or know a solution?
