Very nice to see this. Hope many will send a tweet reply and push for free additional sounds and some basic functions that have been an elephant in the room.

Great and I would gladly give my suggestions but I do not have a twitter account.
Does anyone knows how to contact Roland for this specific purpose?
Or if anyone with a twitter account is willing to pass on my suggestions, here they are:
1. More patterns and more variations
2. A last step function per instrument and not only per pattern
3. Pattern change via MIDI
4. Optional possibility to save a kit with a pattern
5. Patch remain (as described here: https://www.roland.com/us/support/knowl ... 201932299/)
4. More sounds

Reflecting back,2.5 years later, what new features have we got after that promising post from Roland in March 2018 that showed that the TR8 must have had same juice/space left.
https://twitter.com/rolandsynthaira/sta ... 5171879936

Clearly copy A to B and CR78 sounds are the most asked for.

but got this:
https://www.roland.com/global/support/b ... 3f1362497/
[1] Step loop in 1.60
[2] Serato support 1.61 (not feature fore non-Serato users)
[3] Minor bug fixes

No extra sounds for the 23 ACB spaces left in the TR-8 !

Got the TR-8 for ACB sounds and for creating patterns.
Paid for the 7x7, which only seemed to flip a bit to enable some more sounds and this software update is now going to be discontinued by end of August. but if that update did update the sounds, why not more of this like for CR78?

EOL for a firmware update ! , but crippling the 2nd hand market and buts this must be be infuriating for those who still want an upgrade years later unless they put in on the Roland cloud as an update like the System expansions.

https://www.roland.com/global/products/7x7-tr8/
https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... -call.html
https://contentstore.roland.com/

The TR8s got 5 more ACB sounds(81) compared to the TR-8 (76) (+ 2 of which only in the TR-8)
Detailed comparison of ACB sounds here:
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=55426
(The blank ones are those in the TR8S , not in the TR8)

The TR-8S adds many performance features, sampling, multiple outs , EQ and FM.
This is all great for live and in some part for patter creation
But since this is the ACB line of products, where are the ACB enhancements ?
Even the TR-8S did not get an ACB CR-78 bank, just samples.

Question is if Roland is trying to get the last piece of juice (unused memory) out of the TR-8S firmware (FM generator) and selling as much as possible of them while preparing for an update . I hope for full sample up/download (SDS) and pattern MIDI sysex support as Roland has supported Sysex very well in the past. They did for the TB series but not for the TR/System series.

Will Roland keep it's promise for the TR-8 now that the focus has been shifted to the JV/XV/Integra enhanced core called ZEN or will there be more ACB sounds or have ACB sounds seen their best years ?

Good gear, bad marketing.
This is the way it is with the new consumerism, don't expect anything to be sustainable after 5 years.
