Great High res detailed images of JDXA front panel

Post by richardbates1 »

Here is a link that has clear high res images of the control panel of JDXA in sharp detail.
You can click on each images twice for different zoom options.

Most of the front panel images are lower down on the page.

I noticed by looking at the images in zoom mode that the JDXA has cross modulation, oscillator synch, ring modulation. It also looks like the JDXA has more analog wave forms than the JDxi..... like sine wave, triangle wave, Saw wave, square wave, pulse wave with PW and PWM variable amount. I think the JDxi has saw, square with pulse width and triangle?

We should stop comparing the XA to the Xi, the Xi is nothing but a boystoy compared to the XA..

Would any one like to speculate what the price might be for the JDXA?

This is just speculation but someone on YouTube stated that the price of the JDXA would be at least 4x that of the JDXi? since it is at least 4x the synthesizer plus more, and twice the sequencer.

Since this is Roland's new Flagship it does seem like the price of the JDXA would be at the least $2,000 or higher.
Maybe $2,500? I wonder if anyone has some inside info on this? If not I guess we will find out in April or june?

$2500 US sounds about right.

I was thinking the JD-XA could be $1500-1800 US street price. We will have to see.

Wow, I hope you are correct sir! That would really be a reasonable price.

I bought Roland's last Flagship synth- the JP80 and paid over $3500 US dollars, so for a Roland Flagship to be $1500-1800 street price would be great, I am buying this synth no matter what, but I guess we will just have to wait and see? Hopefully in April we'll know?

I have a Jupiter-80 too! I got it at a great deal. In fact, I got the Jupiter-80 and 50 both for the price of a Jupiter-80. To me the $3499.00 US price is a bit steep for the large and slider/knob deprived slab. I love it though for what it is and got the 50 as a light alternative to play out on.
The pice for the JD-XA is just what I was thinking. I could be totally wrong.
I wonder if the JD-XA will actually be a flagship synth. Perhaps a flagship for the new JD line?
I can see Roland making a flagship along the lines of the JD-XA synth engine but with more analog polyphony. Something like 8 voices.

This was my proposal too over at the gearstink boards. As low as Roland are selling the Xi for, I don't think the JD-Xa will break the $2000 ($1999) price barrier, though I could be wrong. If it's $2500 or so, I'm still going to save for one. It will be a beast of a synth, and as easy to program as a GAIA.

I just put my Electron Analog 4 synthesizer/sequencer up for sale on eBay to get some money toward the JDXA.
I haven't been this excited about a synth for a long time!
