Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Hi
I found that there is no way to use the arpeggiator in a normal way, my other synth's arpeggiator work all in the classic way, but the JDXA arp is too strange, ok it can do something that other arp can't d but.. I need also a normal Arp !
thank you

Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
I am not sure what you mean by normal mode? but in the arpeggio section of the JDXA there are all kinds of choices in the motif section. You can choose "UP" "Down" "UP and DOWN" "Random" etc. I think that pretty much fits the normal mode? Or are you describing something different?Redrain68 wrote:Hi

Yes, I mean something different...
Now I'm not near my jdxa...I'll describe it better this night...
Up and down not work like other syhth...especially with more than one key pressed

Arepggio of C chord (C+E+G) with octave range set +1

Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Have you tried the U/D (L&H) motif, also the U/D (_ ) one?

I have tryed all the Motif, this is why the JDXA audio file is longer than the other two......
Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Strange - on both my XAs I'm getting the exact pattern in your first two sound clips.

VERY STRANGE, can u send the patch to
rmiele68 AT gmail DOT com ?
thank you
Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Maybe I can try with a reset of the JDXA ? there is a way ?
I use Template n.1 for the test

Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Just discovered something that may be relevant...
Using an INIT sound (I'm using G-01) - I set up an arp using Up (_ ). Grid is 1/8th, tempo 60. Play C, E, G together and you get the pattern you want.
However using the above settings and change the OCTAVE RANGE to +1, the pattern no longer plays; it does something else.
If I go back to OCTAVE RANGE = 0, and I play C, E, G in left AND right hand, I then get the two octave pattern in your first two sound clips.
So - seems like something funny going on when OCTAVE RANGE is used...

YES ! the octave range is the point ! when setted different from zero semething happen !
Maybe , this is a feature, because the arpegiator of the JDXA is very complex

Re: Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode
Yeah, the Arpeggiator in my JD-XA seems very jacked up, impossible to get to standard running arpeggio from it. Same weird un-usable results as mentioned.
When I play A-B-C chord on a standard synth (Poly-61, Juno-60, you name it, etc), set to UP and 1 octave you get
A - B - C - A(+1 oct) - B(+1 oct) - C(+1 oct)
do the same on the JD-XA set UP(_ ) and OCT +1 you get some random downward motif ???? HUH???
UP (L) or UP(L&H) you get one note repeating no matter what chord you hold or octave amount. Very annoying arpeggiator.
Maybe I need a factory reset??
