Roland are pretty cryptic and take a long time to update their OS's for their products. The RC505 for example came out 3 years ago and is only just getting a major update. Potentially, it could be another 2 years until we see any update for the JDXA based on this (same design team as the JDXA afaik).

Also there are a lot of unfinished features and bugs that need hitting so it depends how much resources they can divert to the XA bearing in mind existing other products and new ones in the works. I'd like to think being their current flagship synth that they would prioritise it in some way. Let see!

+1 hope so too and - looking at all the axial banks released within the last weeks,
it looks like not too bad ;) But i think a lot of attention was also brought on by many
JD_XA fans here and on GS, audiofanzine.fr,sequencer.de etc

so please ROLAND, don't let us wait too long ****

Summer NAMM 2016 was pretty much a yawner for Roland.....at least for me.
Nothing much there.
Nothing so far for the JDXA?

Pretty boring and non eventful. Yawn.

OS 1.5 released earlier today. http://www.roland.com/support/by_produc ... s_drivers/

Version history
[ Ver.1.50 ] JUN 2016
Additional Functions

The preload program sounds have been refreshed; now 256 sounds are provided.
PROGRAM has been added to the sound copy function, allowing you to copy a factory-set program sound to the temporary area.
Please refer to the "JD-XA Version 1.50 Supplementary Manual" for detailed information in the [ JD-XA Version 1.50 Supplementary Manual ].

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.

Parameters are displayed incorrectly, depending on MFX type.
When copying a pattern, pressing the cursor-right button while Dest Track is selected results in incorrect display.
The volume level differs depending on the order in which program sounds are switched.
The tempo is not applied to the unit when Temporary Play is clicked using JD-XA Librarian.
Settings are not updated when Ctrl Src1-4 in PROGRAM CONTROL is switched.
Other minor bugs have been fixed.

New presets

Note: The new preset videos look like they were played on either a JD-XA with the Synthgraphics overlay.. or Roland has released a new (duller) version of the JD-XA. :)

Basically a presets pack masquerading as a firmware update - talk about a damp squib.

What I really admire is the 1.5 supplmementry manual. Its even more sparse than the Aira leaflets.........
