Hey,
just thought I'd contribute a neat little trick I just found out. Whenever I create a new partial on the JD-XA the 'Variation' sound bank defaults to the first sound in the library. Normally, you'd have to either copy the partial or navigate using the arrow keys to match the same sound on a different partial. I found out that if you want to match one of the other partial's sounds all you have to do is the following:
a) Select the new partial
b) Move the waveform selector to any other waveform type than the 'Variation' setting (IE: SuperSaw, etc)
c) Select the partial that has the sound you want to match
d) Select the new partial again.
e) Move the waveform selector back to the 'Variation' setting
The new partial will now match the selected sound from the other partial
That's it, it is much faster than using the 'copy' function. Note: This may have been changed in the new OS version.
