Looks good. They are semi permanent with 4 small stickers each sheet. Will be interesting to see IRL

I've emailed roland about these, when the hell are these things actually going to be freely available to all not just the select few who visit trade shows??? :(

ATM my XA looks clean as a whistle (it isn't, it has scuffs etc) but you just can not see them how I have it mounted on the low tier of an Ultimate stand, at an angle with nice backlighting in the room, it looks as clean as when new. Just don't go shining a torch on it ;)

I love the gloss LOOK, but of course it has downsides when you don't have good lighting as I do. I'd still like the covers though because it's nice to switch it up when I eventually get bored of the shiny shiny...

Anyone got any news on these yet, I have noticed on various forums and Facebook that a few users have got hold of there`s. I contacted my JD-XA supplier last week and they say they have had no notifications! Cheers Glyn.

Yesterday, on a whim.. I went online to Roland Support and put in a request. http://www.rolandus.com/support/parts_order_request/ . If you have registered your JD-XA (I had), it should show up in the registered products dropdown list on the page. Here is what I filled in:
Parts Info:
Part 1 Description: JD-XA Panel Overlays
Part 1 Qty: 1

Part 2 Description: Free JD-XA Panel Overlays which were announced last month. How do I get this? Thank you!
Part 2 Qty:

Part 3 Description: In this pic: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater;

The rest of my info is in Roland's database... so they were able to tell I am a customer (with registered serial number products). Anyway - today I received this notification from Roland support:

Hello Joe,
Order # xxxxxxx. Coming to you soon.

Best regards,
Roland Service Department

Not sure if this was expedited (or maybe even slowed) by my request ... but it appears as though my Roland overlay is headed to California. Roland is probably rolling things out on a schedule, and I am really not certain if this helped, or screwed them up... but it seems to have worked (for me).

hth -

I contacted my music store where I bought my JD-XA, Sweetwater, and they reached out to Roland. They said to contact Roland directly.

Hi all,

I contacted Roland UK about the new overlays for the JD-XA and their official word is, there are no `Official overlays` All the links I sent them are according to them for `Synthgraphics` excellent ones. Despite me pointing they are different from Synthgraphics ones and owners in other parts of the world have seen/own them, they still say there are none from Roland themselves!

So we will have to wait and see if/when they arrive in the UK.

Cheers,
Glyn.

Considering Roland.co.uk don't even offer the 1.5 OS upgrade I think we can assume they are less interested in pushing it than in other territories. Out of interest I wrote to Roland uk support on the possibility of an editor for the jd-xa. Here is what I got back and while I appreciate the honesty. It does not fill with hope that the synth will see much more attention from Roland.

Thanks for your email.

Hopefully one will see the light of day soon but at this moment in time, nothing is officially in the pipeline sorry.

I can not conclude that from their reply, rather "it's ready when it's ready". Besides, Roland US and Roland Germany are very supportive, of course 1.5 is on their website, overlays are available (just call or email them, that's how i got mine within 3days - i have no idea whats wrong with the UK specialist for JD-XA) and my inpression is, there is more to come.

Did anyone of you JD-XA owners receive the original Roland overlay? I bought a JD-XA two weeks ago. The dealer assured me that I would receive the overlay subsequently soon. But nothing since. Roland Germany did not answer my email request for more than a week. So I cannot confirm that Roland Germany is "very supportive".

I think the fact that Roland are not joined up between territories regarding these overlays and the quality librarian released for the JD-XA shows just how serious they are taking this "flagship" synth.

Hi all,

well after 4 emails to Roland UK and the help of Jdoo, Roland UK told me to contact Roland US and maybe they could help me!!! They can not as they do not post to the UK! Can`t afford the stamps I suppose :) , anyway, they said they would contact Roland UK to see if they are going to distibute the overlays and maybe they will then supply us.

Also posted on Roland Global facebook page in their JD-XA post where another miffed UK owner had already posted on the same subject, here`s hoping Roland Corp read our remarks and act upon it.

Cheers,
Glyn.

Probably very busy working towards 909 day, they seem to catch up now. Each affiliate is working independently afaik, this was always my impression. Simply make yourself heard if you feel local support is not up to speed in your country.

<boom>

Mine showed up today! Am tied up with some other stuff, so haven't really had an opportunity to look them over... But they're here. Sorry folks in the UK and some other places seem to be running a little later than other parts of the world. US owners should be able to follow the link I posted above and get theirs in less than a week..
