Jdoo was writing somethings about it. May be he can tell somethings.

Hmm... not me. :) I do MIDI my JD-XA and FA-06 into a setup that includes other hardware synths, soft synths, and a Beatstep Pro and an iConnectMIDI4+ - but not a direct FA-JD (though that should be simple enough). There *is* a section in the JD-XA BKMs doc addressing MIDI control and the JD.. but was written with help from VennD and RonF, and a few other. The thing is - the MIDI implementation in the JD-XA touches a lot of the controls, so MIDI is mentioned throughout the BKMs... including ARP, Sequencer, etc..o.durmusoglu wrote:Jdoo was writing somethings about it. Depends upon what you mean by "work together", doesn't it? I have both, and there are about half-a-dozen ways to make them work together.Simonpech wrote:Hey, i'm wondering how to connect my JD-XA and Fa-06 and make them work together.... does anyone knows how to do it ?
Possibly the simplest is to connect the MIDI Out from the FA-06 and connect it to the JD-XA MIDI IN. You can then set up a sequencer template on the FA-06 to control various parts of the JD-XA on their respective MIDI channels. That's a VERY powerful combination. You'll need to be pretty familiar with the JD-XA sequencer to get this happening, especially options for assigning internal/external MIDI control, track assignments, etc.
If that's not what you are after, perhaps describe your desired end result?
Re: Fa 06 to JD-XA
Midi connect both together via the inputs and outputs and you'll have the best of the system. Set the FA as the master clock (for your sequencer). The XA will output midi on all 16 channels depending on which you have selected on the part area (channels 9-16 are in midi control mode). This will allow you to take full control of the FA sound editing, and is the closest to an editor you're gunna get - at least you can use a whole JD-XA panel rather than a small TFT screen with 5 encoders!
Markus Fuller talks about the midi around the 2 minute mark, but as he hasn't read the manual he doesn't understand why this is all useful! haha
