Much to my amazement, I plugged my Keith Macmillan 12-step controller directly into the usb storage port on the JD-XA and it triggered the synth!
...but...
Now I can't seem to reenact that miracle. Is anyone triggering the JD-XA thru USB?
PS. - I realize that this is not supposed to be possible since the JD-XA is not a USB host... thus the "amazement"

Sounds like it simply works as a midi controller, like it would if you would have used the Midi In instead. Any class compliant usb midi interface should work as long as it is externally powered or that the JD-XA powers the unit via its Usb.
