Legato portamento?

Hey all, just been fiddling with a very acid house kinda sound, and was wondering if it was possible to set the portamento to only occur on legatto playing on the keybed? Had a big dig through and not finding anything, but maybe it's something hidden amongst menus within menus...!

I know this is an old post, but I've gotten back to my JD-XA and saw this post. At first I thought it was kind of an unusual question but it turns out theJD-XA can do exactly what you are looking for. The only limit is that it only does it on the digital parts not the analog parts.

Select a digital part to edit, then go to:
MENU->TONE EDIT->TONE COMMON

Then set
Porta Sw: ON
Porta Time: your choice
Porta Mode: LEGATO

That's it.
