MIDI OMNI mode support PLEASE PLEASE

Post by n0rby »

Hi all

I have found out that midi omni mode is not supported on JD_Xi and I was hoping that someone from Roland R&D would see this post and implement it in a new firmware.

To a degree, I understand why it has been omitted, but it gives me a real practical problem.
One major reason I bought the JD-Xi, was to control it from my Roland Lucina AX-09, which lack options in terms of sounds/patches etc. - Apart from that, I really love these little wolfes in sheep clothing.

I know that I can choose midi channel on Lucina (e.g. channel 3 for Analog), but sometimes I'd like to be able to use the digital synth engine of JD-Xi instead, and those midi channel switches are simply too cumbersome in the middle of a live gig.

For me, it would be enough to have an OMNI mode option, to enable playing whichever part is selected on JD-Xi and it should be such a simple code change..

More advanced modes could be nice too, but just the above would make my day.

Any chance of this being implemented ? - Where can I suck up and does anyone else have the same issue?
