Want to share my experience on how to get editor running on Ubuntu 14.04

1) Download Ctrl editor (http://ctrlr.org/) and make sure binutils are installed
- call sudo aptitude versions binutils - to chek version
- call sudo apt-get install binutils - to install them
2) When you start Ctrl you might see this error -
./Ctrlr-x86_64: error while loading shared libraries: libbfd-2.22-system.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
On my machine it was because i had newer version of libbfd - 2.24 - so what i did was a simple symbolic link (sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libbfd-2.24-system.so /usr/lib/libbfd-2.22-system.so )
3) Download Ctrl panelz files for Jd-Xi from memorysplice link
4) Start Ctrl - load Jd-Xi panel
5) Pick Jd-Xi in Midi in/out/controller menu in Ctrl

Enjoy !

MemorySplice thank you so much. With editor you can really enjoy the power hiding in this little thing - all SN synthesis options.

That's just awesome !

P.S. I had USB driver set to Generic in System settings of JD-Xi and simply connected to PC with USB wire.
P.S.S. Just in case somebody knows - it's first time i used Ctrl - is there a way to load tone opened in JD-Xi into Ctrl with all settings ? e.g. to see how some preset tone is built. So far I was only editing my new tones using Ctrl (from PC -> to Jd-Xi, but never loading first from JD-Xi -> to PC).
