JD-XI and MX-1

Post by EQ404 »

Anyone have any experience running the JD-Xi through the MX-1 for USB MIDI and Audio?

I've updated the system firmware on both the JD-Xi and MX-1, and I've successfully got clock sync and audio from the JD-Xi, but the Master Volume control on the JD-Xi has no effect on the audio output going to the MX-1. I've got my TR-8, and TB-3 hooked up to the MX-1 via USB for MIDI and Audio as well, but I can still control the volume of both of these units via their own onboard master volume knobs.

I'm able to turn down the volume of the JD-Xi's level from the respective slider on the MX-1, but not being able to make adjustments from the JD-Xi is not ideal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't have the Xi, but I do have the XA and it's hooked up to my MX-1.

The XA behaves exactly the same - onboard volume knob has no effect; all volume is controlled by the MX-1.

It's worth bearing in mind however about using the gain button on the MX-1. Press the select button for which ever USB feed your Xi is using then adjust to suit what's going on.

Hope that helps
