JD XI STUCK ON 'UPDATE MODE' ?

my jd-xi shows 'UPDATE MODE' on the screen while isnt responding to anything
after a while the message changes to 'no update file.'
i tried to update the driver but the synth wont respond at all. just these messages on the screen
any ideas?
couldnt find anything online about this fault
