JD Xi sending Midi notes to Juno DS - how do I stop this?

Hi,

Maybe this is a dumb beginner question but my problem is as follows

My JD Xi is synched to my Juno DS via Midi -- all I want transmitted via Midi is the tempo and start / stop function - however, what I am getting is the Juno is also doubling the pattern I've programmed into the JD-Xi ... so I have a synth loop on the JD-Xi for example and that same Synth loop is now also being played by the Juno (along with a separate pattern I've programmed on the Juno) ... everything is in sync and the start / stop works perfectly ... I just don't want the JD-Xi to send any notes to the Juno

I've gone through the setting and both machines to see what I can do to eliminate this but nothing seems to work - please help
