Newb question: connecting jdxi to manager

I've been trying to connect my jdxi to the jdxi manager software. I have the jdxi selected for both output and input midi device, but it hasnt been working. I'm using usb to connect the jdxi to my laptop. Is there maybe something in the synths menu/settings that need to be changed?

Assuming you are using Windows, have you installed the Roland driver for the JD-Xi on your laptop?

Also make sure that both the JDXi Manager and the JD-Xi itself are set to the same RX/TX channel.
